The Wave of the Future: Leveraging Automation Technology to Upgrade Electronics Manufacturing
-- New Electronics Manufacturing Automation Pavilion Set for NEPCON South China 2013

22 Jul 2013

In 2012, the Chinese industrial robot market was valued at RMB 8 billion (USD 1.3 billion), a year-on-year rise of over 30%. Some forecasts estimate that, in the next few years, with the development of the manufacturing industry, in particular the electronic equipment, precise instrument, auto and auto parts manufacturing sectors, the number of industrial robots deployed will grow rapidly.

Today, the electronics industry in China accounts for nearly 30% of the global sales of industrial robots, making it the second largest industry for industrial robot applications behind Japan. At the same time, China has the largest auto and auto parts manufacturing industry. Currently, in the local electronics trade, industrial robots are mainly used in mobile phones, computers, electronic parts and components.

At NEPCON South China 2013, to be held at Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center from August 27 to 29, an Electronics Manufacturing Automation Pavilion(EMA Pavilion) will be introduced to shine a keen spotlight on development trends in electronics manufacturing.

The Pavilion proved highly successful at NEPCON China 2013 in Shanghai this April, winning praise from exhibitors and buyers. South China, a key electronics manufacturing base for the country, is under pressure to counter rising manpower costs. Automation solutions effectively resolve this problem and carry the added benefit of enhancing competitiveness. In response to this pressing market need, Reed Exhibitions, organizers of NEPCON South China 2013, have added an Electronics Manufacturing Automation Pavilion to the show.

The new pavilion will feature displays of manufacturers from across the full spectrum of automation, including industrial robots, system integrators, automation accessories, and non-standard automation. Renowned brands like ABB, Ushio, Robostar, Hiwin, Han's Motor, Delta, Toyo, Sumida, and Fukucima will showcase automated electronics manufacturing solutions targeted to the South China market.

NEPCON South China 2013 has also secured the participation of a number of system integrators with excellent integration capabilities to exhibit and visit. We know that some international industrial robot companies in Europe, the US and Japan do not directly provide integration of robotic automation systems to China. Rather, they sell single robots to system integrators who then provide services for end users. At the same time, most electronics processing and manufacturing companies are incapable of completing system integration and therefore need help when transforming from a manual to an automated assembly line. In this way, system integrators are a bridge that links suppliers of industrial automation products with end users.

The new Electronics Manufacturing Automation Pavilion(EMA Pavilion) at NEPCON South China 2013 will be a comprehensive showcase of automation solutions. Furthermore, it will facilitate excellent networking opportunities for industrial robot manufacturers and system integrators.
