Herndon, Va. (March 9, 2015) — The International Electronics Manufacturing Initiative (iNEMI), an industry-led consortium, is set to offer its 2015 Roadmap to industry in April, and has scheduled a webinar on April 9 to review highlights of this latest edition of its biennial roadmap.

“The 2015 iNEMI Roadmap provides in-depth information about the challenges and opportunities facing the electronics manufacturing industry over the next 10 years,” said Bill Bader, CEO of iNEMI. “Building on the processes of, and lessons learned from, previous roadmaps, the 2015 Roadmap is a valuable snapshot of our industry in the third millennium.”

Bader notes that the roadmap is a global collaborative effort that involves many individuals who are leading experts in their fields and represent the diverse perspectives of the electronics manufacturing supply chain.

“Despite the fact that most individuals are oversubscribed in their day-to-day responsibilities, approximately 500 individuals from at least 20 countries, and representing more than 280 corporations, consortia, government agencies and universities came together to create this product. Through sharing, analyzing, debating and reviewing, this diverse team developed the 2015 Roadmap.”

• Review key technology drivers from selected product sectors

About the 2015 Roadmap

iNEMI has been developing roadmaps for 20 years. It has grown from six chapters in 1994 to 24 chapters this cycle. This latest edition contains five Product Emulator Group (PEG) chapters that anticipate the product needs of the future. They define the technology needs of key market segments by focusing on the market demands and functionality requirements of five industry segments: automotive, consumer stationary and office systems, high-end systems, medical, and portable and wireless.

In addition to the product segments, there are 19 Technology Working Group (TWG) chapters that identify key technology developments anticipated and required within the electronics manufacturing supply chain to meet product needs between now and 2025. New this year is the Power Conversion Electronics chapter, which is provided by the PSMA (Power Sources Manufacturing Association). Also, the RF Components & Subsystems chapter, which has been absent for two cycles, has returned.

The roadmap will be on sale the first week of April. Watch the iNEMI website  for details.
